Horse preventive medicine encompasses a variety of proactive healthcare practices aimed at ensuring a horse's health and preventing diseases before they arise.  This includes vaccinations, deworming, and proper nutrition.

 

In the spring, it is recommended to vaccinate against Encephalitis diseases (EEE and WEE), West Nile Virus, Equine Herpes Virus 1/4, Influenza, Tetanus, and Rabies.  In the fall, a booster for the Equine Herpes Virus vaccine 1/4 and the Influenza vaccine is advised.
